Volunteer Restoration Workday
Do you enjoy the out-of-doors and the chance to work directly with the land? Then we've got the thing for you – our monthly workday. On the second Saturday of each month, volunteers help us steward one of two special sites owned by Libertyville Towns
hip. These places are so ecologically valuable they're part of the Illinois Nature Preserve system. We provide tools and instruction, and volunteers help with projects such as weed control, seed collecting and planting. Trust us: it’s not too intense, and you’ll enjoy meeting other like-minded people. We meet the second Saturday of every month, 9 a.m. to noon, and alternate between Oak Openings in Grayslake and Liberty Prairie in Libertyville (directions below). Wear jeans and boots; we’ll bring gloves, water and nourishment.
Registration is suggested but not mandatory. Contact Us
